heads
Someone else said that the big block and small block heads were interchangeable.I made a comment but no one replied. Is that right? Or is it a hard question to answer?Or something else?

The bolt pattern is the same
If that is the extent of your concerns, then, yes, SBO and BBO heads interchange.
Never you mind those little details like the size of the intake port.
Later SBO engines after 1976 or so use larger 1/2" head bolts so that complicates a pre-77 head onto 1977+ engine transfer.

Rail guy it can and has been done . In BTR's book he says for the cheap port job put a set of BBO heads on your SBO . The performer Rpm or victor intake to match the intake port on the new BBO heads . Same if you go with the Edelbrocks or Procomp . You will have to cut the heads to work with your pistons .

Yes big block heads can be installed on a small block. That includes aftermarket heads. Yes there are some things to be aware of when doing it but for the most part the swap is mostly bolt on and go.
P.S. I am currently running big block C heads on my small block.

One of the main things to be aware of is the BBO heads have 80-85cc combustion chambers (factory iron). If you put these on a SBO that originally had ~68cc heads, then the compression ratio will drop significantly so you would need to compensate by milling the heads or by using higher compression pistons.
