My 1968 442 came with headrest as per my window sticker, someone removed them back in the day. I want to replace them I have done some checking and some say 66-67 will fit and others say 1969 up will fit, any thoughts thanks

 

The 68 headrests are the same as 1969-72. The 66-67 headrests are different in shape - though the two support posts are in the same place.

 

The 68-72 headrests all have the same shape; however, there are differences in the posts and how they lock when they are raised. See post # 6 in the following thread:

that is a very accurate post #6 as I have all three styles ....
and 68's the post hole cap on the seat back was seat color and grain pattern

and I NEED one of those as my car was assembled with only 1 on the passenger bucket seat ... not even any screw holes where it WAS mounted...
a slacker on the assembly line ... yup ....
the inside spring was a loaded wire similar to the 66 67 headrest ...

easiest is just to order the complete 69-72 sets ...
they do show up now and then ... see em alot on the
gto to in 68 had several sets over the years.... I think I still have 1
real 68 headrest if needed ........
