OMG!!! Not sure what to say. I mean there is a lot of airbrush work there and it looks like it was done really well. But, to wreck a perfectly good ragtop 68...Not my cup of tea...

I didn't know black guys were into dungeons and dragons.

Me personally, I like the custom center console idea, but NOT the way it was done.
I've been trying to find a custom console idea for my 442 clone to put in a touchscreen like ISIS has for their electrical systems.

Atleast it still has Olds under the hood.

The paint is very well done, should be on a '76 Chevy Van though. Not for me either. Padden dash.... uuuck! But i like the odd placing of the misc screws if you look at the full size dash shot.

Everyone is entitled to their own taste, even if it is bad.

All that BS... and the damn air cleaner top is not even on straight. Actually, perhaps it is sidewayz on purpose yo. Well, I guess I shouldn't talk, as I still have some old school LL Cool J and EPMD on my iPod. LOL.

after going to all the trouble of building that, why would you leave the holes for the side trim and not fill them. or at least put the trim on. not to mention the hole in the trunk for the lock cylinder. i didn't read his add, maybe it tells there.

If you want all the modern features found in luxury cars, that's the system you want.
It's for people with deep pockets with customizing ideas though......not purists who like to stay "Stock".

The basic kit is 2 Powercells and 1 Mastercell for $999 plus most people need a 3rd powercell, so $1350 is the upfront costs to rewire your car with this system. Plus EVERY add on is $$$ as well. That monitor I want is almost $1000 but it's the GUI control center for your ENTIRE car.

I would say for the budget minded go American Autowire, and just add on as needed. Very high quality stuff. 10x better then Painless, which isn't Painless. I just rewired my 78z setup for PT with a Highway 22 kit. I loved doing it. So easy.

wow, does seem to be a good artist though, but is that even legal to drive that around, heck when I was a kid you would only find images like that in a magazine with a brown paper cover on it Saw the trim holes too, makes you wonder

Aceshigh, If you want a double din console find randy in the parts for sale. He builds custom stereo housings that bolt to the factory 8 track housings under the dash and dose double dins to fit too.

I saw that car the other night and agree on a van a tiny bit more fitting but what the hell were they thinking

Unfortunately I don't have an 8 track housing, and it probably won't be cheap to buy one.

But I appreciate the lead. I'll check it out.

Looks like it would be hard to fix but a few cans of spray paint would be a good start. I don't understand this stuff either, why take a good 42 year old car and do that to it. Why not a later model? Oh well, it could be fixed.

Why?...to get the girls with bad taste of course.

Aren't females the base root cause when guys do anything really stupid?
Sigmund Fraud thing.
Or he was down the basement partying with his friends while listening to Death Metal and watching El Spongeo Roberto de Squarepants on TV and the dreaded "Hey man...wouldn't it be cool ifs?" got hold of the dude.

Donkalicious?? That thing gives donkeys a bad name.
Lambo doors???
Who uses the doors to get into a convertible other than to put one hand on when you leap in??
I'm working on the rear technique, almost got running and jumping over the trunk lid to a handstand on the top of the back seat to a somersault into the driver's seat, I'll get it yet, have to heal first.

Be patient and you can find a used one without the tape player pretty cheap sometimes, also the PartsPlace repos them and if you head over there (you're not to far from them) they have used ones in stock all the time. Randy will do an excellent job of setting it up anyway you want it.

The dash reminds me of the Pillsbury Dough Boy. And the sonic effects of those sub woofers could shake the paint off.

Also, I am not a prude, but many other people are, I wonder if one could get arrested on pornography charges for the trunk (looks like she was being rear-ended) and driver side door (some headlights lady).

It stemmed from the repetitive rediculous mods usually done to an impala. Therefore, the impala was referred to a donkey, just shortened. The term had encompassed all makes of cars done like that.

The paint on that car was neat - I like airbrushing. However, I like it best on motorcycle tanks and fenders. That car had a bit too much.
Aside from that, the rest of it left a bad feel in my stomach.

BTW, who the heck would invest 50k into something to make it look like that, then turn around and sell for 25k so soon? Really makes me wonder...

Thanks Rob.

The concept of a mule overladen with excess crap.

Fits.

Personally, I think that car is great.
Why?
Even a guy like me with a yard full of barely running wrecks can look at that and feel like a cross between George Barris and Albert Einstein.

Not sure what the regional differences are, but when I was younger, growing up in NYC, all of the cars that were done up to this extent were associated with criminals who had to "lose" excess cash in ways the IRS wouldn't notice.
Pimps
Kids of mafiosi
"Connected" body shops (and have you ever seen one that wasn't?)
etc.

The guy down the block who worked at the gas station and saved his pennies for a better carb may have had an awesome blown GTO, but usually in need of paint, and never a fully remodeled car like this.

I wouldn't say that!!!!! But I will ask how often does someone profit when selling a car they built to their taste!!!
It's like no different from the guy who changes paint, rims and interior every summer!!!!!!

Some maybe lost interest, some might just like to show it off & keep it moving!!!!!! Jmo!!!!!!

Okay. So who is this guy, where does he get the scratch to do this, and why doesn't he give some of it to me?

I mean, seriously, do you actually know someone who does this, or is this just some sort of a subcultural meme?

No it's not!!!!!
I know plenty of guys who don't sell dope or pu$$c!!!!!! They work, save & spend every extra hard earned dollar they have in their cars!!!!! I'm 1 of them, only thing that slows me down are my 4 mini me's!!!!!
I have a 8-5 but I work on cars, hustle craigslist, eBay, etc!!!!!

And don't forget alot if it has to do with who you know!!!!!!!

I'll clean and install your motor if you paint my car!!!!!

A fiberglass dash runs around $1500 for a stock look!!!
A member on here (Veltboy 314) is making me 1 for a a couple bacon cheeseburgers and a capri sun!!!!!!
I haven't paid to have tires mounted or balanced in idk how long!!!!!!!
(just examples)

I think that car is the shizle. Love the graphics. Cool gull wing doors. Nice cushey white interior and still Olds Powered. Not for everyone. Like the New car salesman said at Bill Rowan Oldsmobile. There is a but for every seat.
