Has anybody used this fuel line?
There's an active thread right now on replacing rubber fuel hose with a steel fuel line. Instead of hijacking that thread I thought I'd ask if anyone has used the 3/8 & 5/16 Dorman nylon fuel line in their classic Oldsmobile?
It is the OE fuel line on my 96 Oldsmobile and my diesel Ford truck.
Here's a length of the 3/8 fuel line.

I suppose you could use it to replace the steel fuel lines. There are plenty of adapters available.

Know that you need a heat gun to work with this nylon fuel line. Momma's hair dryer or hot water won't work. Also, it's a good idea to have the Dorman tool to mate the nylon fuel line with the adapter ends.

I suppose there's just as much setup cost (if not more since you need a heat gun) using the Dorman nylon fuel line as there would be to run steel fuel lines.

Right you are Eric.
Be aware that mating the nylon fuel line to rubber hose requires a special fitting. I used SURR K145 & K140 (3/8" & 5/16" respectively) on my Ford truck. I think the plus of using the nylon fuel line is that you can have quick disconnects if you plumb the fuel lines with the correct adapters (might be difficult to do on a classic Oldsmobile).

I am running that exact line in my 71 Cutlass that I LS swapped for both feed and return. I assembled it with the dorman kit you linked and it has been trouble free for years. I will agree with some of the above statement about routing difficulty, but it isnt all that bad.

I remember seeing an old episode of Roadkill where Dave Frieburger discusses ethanol and EFI compatible hose made by A/C Delco. That’s been on my list to go back and watch episodes until I find it again. My local A/C Delco dealer looked at me like I’m crazy when I asked.
This is probably the route I’m going to take when it comes time to run fuel lines for Project Olds-Camino.
