Got a few questions??
The carpet in my 71 cutlass is shot. Does any1 recommend the pre fitted carpets??? And if so what do I do? Are they a do it yourself type of thing?? But to make things more difficult the car originally came with a colum shifter which is no longer there(replaced by b&m star shifter) and It also came with a bench seat that I want to replace with 2buckets. Any suggestions on what I should do with the carpet and before I rip this bench out does any one know will they bolt rite up or will I have to make holes myself?? Thanks fir the help

The molded carpets are the only way to go in my opinion. They are cut close to the actual size but there will be minor trimming to fit them exactly. The carpet comes without any holes for consoles or floor shifters so you can do what you want if you want to retain the aftermarket unit in place now. Just make whatever holes you need. The bucket sets will not bolt in place until you install the inner seat brackets as already mentioned. They are available from several sources and need to be welded in place. Do it the correct way and don't just drill holes with bolts and nuts. The other brackets in place now that are used with the bench seat will work with the buckets.

I've always used carpet offered by ACC (Auto Custom Carpets) and you can buy direct or get it through companies like Fusick. There are various companies that offer the bucket set brackets and I think one of the better priced companies will be Ground Up (www.ss396.com). They are a Chevy parts company but the Chevelle used the same brackets. I looked and they sell a bucket seat bracket conversion kit for $40.
