Golden age of muscle cars is now

Best of all three worlds, love my old school restored 72 W30 (slight internal enigne mods), can't wait to fire up my custom LS2 powered 1955 88 sedan, and I recently bought a gently used 2010 Cadillac CTS-V coupe.
The Caddy has spoiled the need to get a few more horses out the others for sure, it's soooo fast. And a blast to drive.
Still lots of fun to tool around in the grunting big block A-body, but it's not "fast" by comparison.
The 55 will just be a cruiser.......

I own a few old cars. You guys know this somewhat. I also own a 2011 SHO that I modified. It runs mid 12s. A good friend of mine owns a HellCat Challenger. While the new cars go like stink, they don't have a soul. The old cars rumble and shake the antenna. This appeals to me greatly. However, the older cars aren't as reliable as my Taurus so I drive that when I need dependability, like on a road trip to another state. But around town I'm daily driving a 75 Eldo convert. What a great car. I had an 03 Cobra Mustang. Sold it. While it was really fast, all I could do is wax it. Booooring!
Here is a pump gas 850hp Stage II NicKey ZL1.
Here is a NicKey Stage I Naturally Aspirated build.

Honestly I've never been a fan of the new Cadillac cars. Sure they're fast but compared to what they were even in the late 80's and early 90's they look ugly (that "smile" grill in particular), they're tiny, and their nameplates are just a confusing set of acronyms. The only thing they have with any real presence is the Escalade SUV, but those still don't look good and even by Cadillac's standards are overpriced.

I like the old style and the new power. I think the new Camaro is a bloated pig. And when the old styling cues (stripes, wheels, hoods etc) are applied to them I laugh. In HMM they recently featured the new Yenko Camaros. I cant think of anything more stupid than that. The cars even had huge wheels with white letter tires. Move on already.

Point being this hobby is moving into the "street rod" era. Guys are taking 60s and 70s cars and upgrading them and not restoring them. The hobby will be fine, its just changing. G bodies are coming on strong and Trans Ams are skyrocketing. Guys are not really into making them stock, they want to go fast and stop. And be able to drive them without worrying about overheating or rain.

We actually built the first 5th Generation Commemorative edition Yenko Camaro for then owner of the Yenko Club / Yenko.net. as well as the second one for Don Yenko's Daughter.
As both a Yenko fan and collector of Vintage Yenkos, I like the modern commemorative cars. But I do like our rendition much better ; )
