I assume this is how they get around ad-blocking software. Face it, it costs money to host this forum. The ads pay for that. If advertisers assume their ads are being blocked, they either will stop paying for them (causing the forum to go away) or they will find alternate means to get their message out. This is no different than product placement in TV shows to overcome people fast forwarding through commercials when using their DVR.

I realize sites cost money but its getting ridiculous, to watch a vid story for example, on most sites now you have to watch 20 second commercial used to be only 5 or 6 seconds or so.

I have not seen that one but if it is a thread with that title, then just skip opening it (unless you are interested in it).

Wow, I used a bad word like this once and was threatened with expulsion. Can anyone say "double standard?"

I fixed the cussing. That's not what right looks like.

I agree the ads are annoying, but if you don't sign in when visiting our site then there are even more ads. Thankfully, I can't see hardly any of them because of all the anti-spam stuff on these computers here in the 'Stan.

Yeah, they are gone now. I also found it interesting (but not surprising) that these infomercial threads did not have the moderation functions enabled on them - mods were not allowed to edit, move, or delete them the way we can with all other threads.

You are bending the truth.
You had directed it to another member in anger (against rule 9), in the process of "stirring the pot" (against rule 3).
It has not just happened once, either... (against rule 1)
When I addressed it, you had cussed towards a mod which was what almost gave you a time out. Against rule #2 here:

Really? I noticed some people were easing off with the swearing but I didn't know you could be booted for it.

Lets not make a big deal out of it, we've been really good about keeping the site family oriented.

I curse like a sailor in person - honestly don't even know when I'm doing it, it comes so naturally - but I firmly believe that the fact that we force ourselves to speak civilly here is one of the reasons why the general tone of the discourse is as respectful as it usually is.
