Glass
Has anyone used AMD for glass? Or other suggestions.
I got a 69 442 and need to replace a lot of the glass.
Door windows have chips on edges, but not scratched up. Windshield is gone, and back glass is
scratched badly.

I replaced both door glass with tinted replacement from AMD. I can’t say I’m surprised to see they came with a sticker that did made in Taiwan. The fit seems good, the appearance is also good.
I found 2 tinted quarter glass from someone local, I tried for 6 weeks to find tinted door glass to complete the car. No luck.
If you have any desire to “keep you GM all GM” I’ll make you a smoking deal on some original glass.

Check the Vintage Glass page on https://www.vintagepartsource.com , there is a good list of glass suppliers for vintage and classic cars.

The original glass somehow got a horseshoe shaped crack low on the wind shield. I inspected to see why, no impacts?? Anyways made a claim with then Haggerty, I had my works glass people install it. It was AMD. Happy with look and tint.

I have used both Pilkington and Glass City and kind of had the same issues with both. The windshields and side glass fit fine and look good. The issue that I had was that the curvature of the quarter glass was not a perfect match for the curvature of the front windows. This was true on both of my 70 convertibles although it might be different for other years/models. There was enough of a mismatch that I could not fine tune out some wind noise regardless of how I adjusted the glass. It was also exactly the same for both suppliers leading me to suspect that they were made by the same off-shore manufacturer.
I would use either of then again although, as always with reproduction stuff, it can't possibly be more difficult to make it wrong than it is to make it right.
