Gauge Set

I have an old SunPro gauge set (coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage) in the 4-4-2 which has served me well. Looking to finally put a set in the Vista. Prefer 2" white faces and chrome. SunPro looks to be obsolete. Any recommendations? Happy to pay for quality.

I've been using Autometer for about 20 yrs- same set. I recently upgraded the speedo to the GPS model, and it's freakin' sweet!
*they're performance series (black face, white markers, orange needles with chrome bezels) so not what you're looking for visually
You might want to check out NXU.

Bosch bought out Sunpro a few years ago. Their 3 gauge sets are the same with a name change.

Thanks for the replies. The Bosch gauges look just like the SunPro, so no surprise.

Regarding Autometer, they look like SunPro/Bosch in that they have oil tubing that runs directly to the gauge. Simple, for sure, but I'd prefer a sending unit for oil pressure; no risk of oil getting in the passenger compartment. Anyone know a good one set up like that?

That would be an electrical gauge as opposed to a mechanical gauge. Most all gauge manufacturers have both styles.

Any recommendation on an electrical gauge set? Reviews on Amazon are generally not great.

I did not want an oil line running into the passenger compartment, so I went with this electronic gauge set from Autogage by AutoMeter.

It is pretty easy to install and easy to read, and it included all of the sensors.

I have 2 5/8 electric Autometer gauges for oil, water and volts. They were installed to replace the 20plus year old mechanical gauges that had been under the dash. They still worked fine, the only issue is the orange needle had faded. I did install #3 hose instead of the plastic or copper line for the oil pressure gauge. It seems those always leak.

Quality gauges aren’t cheap.

Thanks again all. I like that Autogage set at Summit Racing. I was there on Sunday, after the NE Ohio Olds gig but, just my luck, they were redoing the gauge section, and had nothing on display.

I like that that set shows normal ranges, too. Occasionally somebody else drives the Vista Cruiser, one of the few automatics I own. And while they may not understand the numbers, they know that red is bad!

That is the same gauge set I have. They work great, I just need to fix the intermittent connections in my wiring.

I have to fix one of my connections, too. I really wanted the lights to dim with the other gauges, but the wire I tapped for the lights (a grey wire headed to the radio) turned out to be hot any time the car is on. I can live with that for now, but it is not ideal.

Good luck to the OP on the purchase an install!
