I guess I have been out of the picture too long or showing my age...........

went to get gaskets to seal up a block, they don't nickle and dime you, its: fives, tens, twenties...............

mostly FelPro from NAPA and Advance Auto

head gasket $25 each
intake (turkey tray) $38
timing kit $22
valve cover $12
oil pan $14
oil filter $7

didn't even get to solvent, RTV or sealants........................

 

Oh yeah, they'll cram it right up your bottom. You're lucky you didn't go to carquest. They want like $115 for a set plus tax.

I find it's easiest to buy a complete set for a 307 off ebay for 25 bucks and just buy the head and intake gaskets separate. The 307 sets come with everything else you need.

 

That is why I always shop at O'Reillys.

 

lol have you priced out a set of cometic head gaskets for an olds?

 

I surfed the net and found a place in GA that has good prices; found nice deal in intake bathtubs on ebay. You just have to look around, Jegs, Summit, etc.

 

Try Rockauto - I get parts like this from them and they always seemed to have low prices on the better brands. Return experience was great, too, when i ordered the wrong item.
