gas priming - startup question

So I have two Deltas now. An 83 and 85. My 83 ive had for some time now. When I go to start the car, All it takes is one pump at the pedal and itll turn over and start strong.
Now my new 85 that I got within the past month starts differently. It takes at least 3-4 pumps at the pedal for car to start and even then it doesnt feel strong.
The 83 has new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, and delco remanufactured starter all less than 15k miles old.
The 85 with 57k ive only replaced inline fuel filter.

So my question for my 85 is, Is it a (factory) carb tuning issue, or is it a spark issue?

Does it do it every time you start it, or only when it set for a while? If it only does it when it has been setting for awhile, the carc is probably leaking at the bottom part of the carb that has some pressed in plugs. so take time to fill the carb back up. My 70 does this, and I have also sealed the plugs, but still leaks slowly

Yea its happened twice now but two-for-two on the same circumstances. I drove the car off of a cold start and only after sitting for ~5 hours it needed to be reprimed. My 83' is usually good and primed for 12 hours after the first start.

But you may be right about it just leaking out sooner through the plugs. I dont believe the gaskets are leaking as I checked for spillage when I replaced filter. Thanks for input!

Yeah after multiple days, it's evaporation, but, if it doesn't start well the next day, it's a leak. Could also be going back out the fuel inlet if the needle is weak.

Cold start on the next day should need one full pump to set choke.
