I was in the bin with him not 5 minutes before he got trapped. We got very lucky that I was in the right place at the right time. It certainly made me count my blessings.

Wow that is scary. Sure glad everything turned out ok. Another good reason to support our firefighters. Bet your father in law won't being doing that again anytime soon.

Wow - glad he made it through that and did not sink much further. Hats off to the firefighters and the One above!
I bet he won't want to see corn for a while...

Yikes,

Reminds me of a movie about a guy hiding out in Amish Country.

I think that would be right behind burning to death as to ways I don't want to die. I bet you would live a good while after you went under.

Glad everything turned out OK

Being beried alive in grain was a murder method in "Dark Night of the Scarecrow", a movie I liked when I was a kid. Looked very effective.

Never again will I think about being up to my neck in $%#* without thinking about how close a call this was. Thank you for being there and having a clear head. If he had been on his own, I shudder to think of what might have happened. So grateful you are both ok and probably a lot wiser to the perils too! Can't imagine how terrifying it was for both of you.
