Forgot I had these little guys.

I was going through some of the inventory I have for the 69 442
and came across these valve stem caps. They are made of chromed
steel I suppose and are a nice finishing touch. I was wondering if anyone
had seen any like these before and knew where to get any more of them.

Cool! I've never seen them before but the shape of the rocket seems period correct.

They are pretty cool. I May have to put them on the 66 just because.
Maybe they were from Cal-van or one of the other guys back in the 70's
that made those little after market goodies. I can't remember. I May have
pulled them from a junk yard. I have had them for a long time.

Unfortunately, it isn't. Note how the vertical sides of the red background shield bow outwards. The factory logo has parallel sides. This is a common circumvent-the-copyright logo that I've also seen on Chinesium wheel center stickers.

I have the same set on my 62 Olds. I bought them in this century; post 2005. Could not tell you where as it has been so long ago. I also have a set for my Caddy with the Cad crest on them, so they are hardly rare.

They should have a rubber O-ring inside the valve cap. It is a royal pain as it ends up inside of the valve stem, instead of on top of it, where it is supposed to act as a seal between the stem and inside of the cap.

Those things are sweet. I think we may try and find a set of those.
