Flushing the block

I am ready to install a new radiator in my 70 -350. I thought it migtht be a good time to flush the system.
Can I do it if I remove the t-stat and run a hose thru it?

I only run distilled water. The scale that builds up inside your radiator comes from the minerals in tap water.

Thanks,
I'm getting a new radiator as the other one is shot. Only $25 more for new over re-core price.
Just thought it might help to flush water thru the engine.
I always use distilled water in the radiator when needed.

I flush the block with distilled water too. They look at me strangely when I'm buying 15 gallons of the stuff. I never put any tap water in my cooling system.
