Got caught out in the snow

Good evening,

I got caught out in the snow today. Not a fun drive home!

Going out to the car after work.

The car after the safe ride home!

Hopefully they don't salt the roads in your area. If so.........get out the pressure washer ASAP!!

No salt yet, all good. All washed up and now hibernating for the winter.

This was the first time that one of my cars got wet except for when they are being washed.

Cheers,

Sam

I had painted a Dodge Caravan a couple months ago and I was forced to leave my car outside. I noticed the clouds were rolling in and I was hoping it wouldn't rain until I got the van out of my garage.. But I was wrong.

It was the first bit of rain mine has seen since 2005.

442's are only fun on dry hot asphalt. My '71 Cutlass, '92 Mustang GT and '93 T-Bird Super Coupe were NO fun on anything other than dry. Light foot=Traction Control. Glad you got it home in one piece.

Yeah, the snow really wasn't my concern- I was worried about the freezing rain!

Jeez, we used to drive these things all the time in the winter. (RWD) Thats just what it was. You just need to learn HOW to drive them. We never had problems until about 6" of snow here in Michigan and that was minimum. I always laugh at the people in Atlanta etc. with even the new cars that can't drive in 1" of snow. We always get a kick out of that.
Anyways, mine also see's no rain or snow.

Sam, first of all - beautiful 442 you have there!
Second - you live in Canada. That's not snow. I can still see bare pavement. I remember driving my 72 around all over the place in stuff that was over 2ft deep. Just needed winter tires. FYI? This is snow (November 7, Edmonton AB. It's still here and even deeper)

Sam 72xw30: Don't drive in snow. You might rust your undersides.

Allan: Thank God that I live in Southern Ontario. No Snow here!!!

It really dosen't mater, since my car has been in storage since the beginning of November.

My little brother lives in Grande Prairie and he has told me how much snow they have. Glad I live in NS. Although, yesterday I went to Halifax and couldn't believe how much snow they got in the valley. The roads were bare, but the shoulders of the road had about 2 inches.

SNOW TIRES? who used snow tires, they ruined doughnut opps! If it got too hard to drive down the street we'd just go backwards.

LOL Steven! Up here we NEEDED snow tires, and even with them we had lots of ops for donuts! I guess all your 'backwards' driving must have been in anticipation of buying a FWD??

I'm sure you did, my attitude is if its cold there might as well be snow but today I'm in shorts and its above 60 F. We typically get hammered, then covered with salt, then it melts 4 days later. I hate that. I never had snow tires until a few years ago and what a difference it made on one of my cars, I'm sure just like all things they are way better now then years ago as well.

Ouch! Well at least you're in shorts instead of walking around naked as a jaybird!

That's the lot of a daily driver, Allan. The good with the bad, I guess.

Drove 80 miles tonight, only one episode of sliding around, and then only slightly. That's not disconcerting, is it? :P
