Film debut for our '72

For those that might be watching the FX tv series "Fargo", season 2 is being filmed in the Calgary, Alberta area. They put out a call for cars of vintage age between 1962 - 1975. So we decided what the heck, lets see what happens if we offer up our '72 4 door Cutlass. To our surprise they called & asked if our car could be used in a parking lot scene & for a few drive by's. So yesterday thats where our "Cutty" got her film debut. I was able to watch some of the going's on, not overly exciting, & it was kinda weird seeing our car driving around without the wife or I behind the wheel. But still kinda cool at the same time. There was some really nice cars there as well but ours was the only Oldsmobile & the car organizers for filming have asked about using it some more. Never would have thought they would use our car, what with the body not being done and all. Cool experience though.

That's really interesting. Did they tell you exactly what would be done and who would be driving it and all? I know a lot of folks are reticent to do this because they worry about that.

Cool, I'll make an attempt to watch out for it.

Yes they told us up front what would be happening. They actually "rent" the cars from the owners for a day, even put their own insurance on them also. If driving is involved it could be an actual actor, one of the film crew, or even the owner that drives.

Too bad you didn't get your film debut also.

John, cool story. I'd be scared to let them use mine. Somehow I think my insurance company would frown on it. Might even cancel the coverage unless they have 'exception' coverages?

Fargo? Is that related to Dodge/Chrysler? Show about a defunct truck? My best friends Dad had one like this he converted into a camper. You couldn't kill that thing - it would go anywhere. 4 speed stick with a 318 IIRC

Thanks for info. I might consider such an offer, were it to happen, if I could drive it or park it myself.
