electronic points timing

I installed a crane cams points x electronic kit.
Does timing stay the same as an HEI? Or points?

Im at 14 initial, starts good.
Seems like it needs more total timing, but seems like it cant be adjusted.

Timing will be close to original but with today's gas need a little more timing, 36 total seems to be the sweet spot.

You installed a points replacement kit, use your stock timing.

The engine neither knows nor cares if the spark plugs are fired with mechanical points or an electronic conversion. Proper initial timing depends on the CR, carbon buildup, vacuum and mechanical advance curves, gears, octane, and a whole lot of other factors. Not one of them is a function of how the spark is generated.
