electrical problem

When I was at ocean city my turning signals started acting up . not blinking. Sometimes one would work then both didn't work.it made a buzzing noise up under the dash. I haven't had a chance to look at it but figured it's the blinker. I changed the Jets in the carb and took it for a test drive. I noticed the fuel gauge was reading full when I know its not . know I have a chance to look at it and the turn signals work . but the fuel gauge is still reading full.
Any ideas on where to start?

Just checked the sending unit I got 8.6 volts at the tank. The gauge stays the same with the sending unit unhooked or not. Even with the battery until hooked.
