Edelbrock Carb

I am running a 1411 edelbrock 750cfm carb. with a 455 bored 40 over and edelbrock heads. I believe I need about 825 to 850 cfm. Can I make adjustments on this carb to achieve it? No Carb sight so I put it here.

What makes you think you need more carb?...I have the same carb on my 455...040 over 9.5 -1 pistons...No edlebrock heads but C heads all done up.

I had to lean mine out...too rich...they are adjustible with jets and rods in a kit...if you use a air fuel guage for the adjustments you can get it to run real nice...Mine is awesome ...

Found a problem with the accelerator pump. It was torn. Guess the ethanol doesn't do the rubber any favors. Still a lot of folks say the best carb is either a Rochester or Holley.

you could find a Buick 800cfm quadrajet, and have it built by your specs.

cores are around for $50-$60,it would run you some change to have it built right, though.

Thas what I am looking for. Actually any early 750's will run ok if rebuilt correctly from what I hear.

800 or 850 Holley is the way to go. Easy to tune.
Make sure your fuel pump can supply the sys. you need 5 to 7 psi fuel pressure.

Gene,
Looked into the holley and the guy there said the Holley 750 hp or avenger 770. I have not heard a lot of good things about the avenger. So go with a mechanical ?

I run a Holly 770 avenger on my 455 10.5.1 compression edelbrock heads full roller cam, rockers. Runs hard no hesitation. Its all in the carb tuning no matter which way you go
