east lansing/detroit car museums

Anyone from MI know any any good car museums to go to in Detroit or south west MI. I have been to Ford, Gilmore and the Kalamazoo Air Museums but was hoping there was a place like Volo here in Illinois that stocks dozens if not hundreds of cars for sale as well as being a kind of museum. What's the Olds Museum like? Are there more than the two cars they show on their website? Doesn't Chrysler have a museum, couldn't find anything about that. Thanks

The RE Olds museum in Lansing is pretty cool. I live in Lansing so I go there at least twice a year. they have way more than 2 cars. they also have the Hurst hairy Oldsmobile (twin 455's crazy 4 wheel driven drag car) had an awesome vista. Some really nice REO's. Many pace cars ect...... If you are an Olds lover it would be a stop that you would have to make

I lived in Detroit for 45 years and never heard of the Olds Museum. I would have loved to visited it, Would have just been a 1 hrs drive then, now its 12 hrs. Maybe I'll have to plan a road trip this summer to my parents place in Mt. Pleasant, and make a stop off in Lansing.

Can you tell me a bit more about the museum in Lansing? Such as: how many cars and are cameras allowed?

Thanks!

The Chrysler Museum is in Auburn Hills, MI.

You also have to go to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI.

All are great places to see.

The Lansing Oldsmobile Museum does allow cameras. I go there and take lots of pictures everytime I go. They do a nice job. They have the Hurst Hairy Oldsmobile. Many pace cars, Lots of really old stuff. I wish they had a few more 68-72 cars but they are represented.

There is some really good reading about and pictures about how it all started.

Come to Lansing!
