Dual Gate Shifter question

I bought an original Olds duel gate shifter, console and all. Now I just bought a Shifter Ball advertised as an NOS part. But it does not screw directly onto the shifter. The threaded hole is a couple sizes larger than the shifter. Am I missing something? Thanks

The shift ball I got came w a fewscrew in the ball adapters w different thread sizes so it would fit on my dual gate and I would guess a host of other shifters! maybe yours is missing the adapters ? mine was not NOS but an aftermarket replacement type

Any idea of where to order these adapters from?

The OEM ball did not use an adapter. Your ball may well be NOS but not NOS for an Oldsmobile Dual Gate. What part number did it have? The NOS original dual gate ball for the Oldsmobile would be 406653 group 4.006. I am not sure if other cars and makes used the same ball or not. I am not even sure if all years for the Olds dual gate used the same ball.

I pulled a ball off of another Hurst Shifter I had stashed away and it fit perfectly. And without needing any kind of adapter. I am going to return the new one and get my money back.

Thanks
