Dual Gate installed

Not sure I would have been able to do this install if it weren't for all the information that I gathered from this site. It really is the best resource for me.
The dual gate is in, goes through all the gears as it should and lines up with the holes in the console. A lot of trial and error but finally got er done! Now on with the insulation and carpet.

Where did you get the cable? I've heard some cables require modifying the bracket on the transmission to work right. I just did this swap and used the Inline Tube cable. I haven't had a chance to drive the car yet though so I'm hoping I don't have to mess with it more. Did you also cut your console? That was easier then I expected. I wasn't happy with the wood grain on the repro top plate, and since I needed new wood grain for the console insert I ordered the kit from H&H Classics and couldn't be happier. It's the metal backed vinyl like the factory used instead of the sticker that came on the top plate.

When you install the front carpet, leave the outboard edges a lot longer than you think they should be. Let the carpet sit for a while before trimming the edges to fit. Many years ago when I installed the carpet in my car I had read this and thought I left the edges long enough (they ran up along the kick panels so I thought they were way longer than necessary) but after final trimming they ended up about 1/2" too short and I had to put strips of leftover carpet under the edges to fill in the gaps.

Oh no !, and I thought I was the only one to do that the first time around. the second time around I took our Queen size electric blanket out to the garage and layed it on the floor with, my new round 2 carpet on top of it. Nope, my wife wasn't happy bout' that one.
All the best with your carpet instulation process.

I got the cable from Super Cars Unlimited. They are just down the road a few miles from me. I sold my old console to someone who refurbishes them. Bought a dual gate that was already refurbished. I plan on getting my top plate from H & H also. I already dropped the drivers seat in and ran it up the street through the gears, no problems or modifications needed. I plan on using my old carpet as a template for the new one since it fit pretty well.

Is there a comprehensive parts list for installing a Dual Gate in a car with the standard console and TH400 shifter?

Did you weld the console brackets ? Or bolt them on ? Just curious I'm at the same stage and saw yours sitting on top of the Heat barrier

Exactly what I was thinking.

Nice job. Where did you get the sound deadener? I'm going to try to do the floor board this winter.
