dual exhaust kits and headers

it's that time on my 65 442 project to start thinking about bolt on exhaust kits and headers. what headers are going to fit with the 400 on this frame? what exhaust kit is the best bang for your buck for the 400 engine?

thanks again to all those that contribute valuable information to people on this forum.

It's a very open ended question. There are plenty of muffler discussions on here; most seem to prefer Dynomax Super Turbos. Personally, I'm partial to traight through, perforated tube in a chamber design (Magnaflow, Pypes, Borla, etc). As far as bolt on exhaust, Gardner makes high-zoot resto-quality stuff; most aftermarket 64-72 A-body kits work.
Covid shot the term "bang for the buck" square in the @$$. Almost everything is backordered and price inflated these days. Pypes used to be a good value and made in PA, but i think even they have gone offshore.

The headers discussion has been and continues to be brought up routinely. You will find plenty of that info in the "big blocks" forum on this site. The '64 thru '67 frames are mostly the same as far as fit for headers clearance. Try this: classicoldsmobile.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160992&referrerid=63339

The issues with headers are not with BBO's, issues arise with SBO's.
