driving resto?

just wondering if anybody out there in olds land has ever driven their ride while undergoing a resto?

i am thinking of doing this because i want a rider not a total show car. i dont want to trailer it to ride night so the tires dont get dirty, i want to be able to do burn outs and race for pinks like they did in the day.

currently i am customizing the brakes to power disk in front, as it is hard to do burn outs without brakes

then a new top so i can leave it outside sometimes without worring about rain, and give me a little more room in the garage.

o ya forgot to mention it is a 60 old delta 88 custom convertible with a 455/400

i just thought the reno would be more difficult and rust would be harder to control over a full off frame resto.
