Double stick tape to attach tach?
I don't think it would work. I had a buddy that used a large hose clamp to attach a tach to the steering column in his Camaro.
Here's a thread on DIY gauge pods at a Ford truck website I frequent. While tachs are usually larger than 2 1/16" gauges, hopefully this thread will give you some ideas. You can probably fabricate your own gauge pod with a quick trip to the hardware store.

I had an aux temp gauge with a 90 deg bracket and a ring to set the gauge in. I flipped the 90 deg flat plate forward (reversing the bracket, and I put double sided tape on the bottom of the bracket and landed it on the top of the plastic of the bottom edge of my instrument panel on my Chevy. I then put a piece taping the top of the bracket down as well, like over the whole thing. I did this for about 5 years, I had a very high stock gauge, ran the other gauge in the port in the other head, and found out the gauge was accurate. Replaced the original high temp emissions thermostat with a stant superstat at 160. The needle is still all over the place; the radiator needs rodding, at least, but, it goes from 180 to 210 now, not 200-240.
I would redo this tape job once a year in the fall for its big outing, and it would work right for a month, then fall off. I could stick it back up for a ride, it would fall later. Then, several months later, it would fall mid ride. I removed it as I prepped the car for 2018 power tour.
I do not recommend tape for anything other than temp rigging.
