Well my roommate is putting new gauges in his 66 GMC. And found a cool set at Dolphin Gauges. We wanted Mechanical. And they had this set that he liked. http://www.dolphingauges.com/dolphin_gauges.html the black 6 gauge mechanical


Well when we got them the only thing Mechanical is the speedo and the rest of the gauges are electric. So he calls them up today and they said he shold have know better, and is charging him a 20% restocking fee, and he has to pay the return shipping! I dont know what anyone else thinks but i think its BS! They should list it as speedo only, and no where does it say that the rest will be electric. No wonder the box looked like it was opened a few times.


Has anyone else had this problem? Or is this just the way it is? Ive never ordered a complete set of gauges before. Anyone know of a REAL Mechanical set?

 

That is a bummer. Talk to you friend, maybe he should consider keeping the gauges and using them eventhough they aren't what he expected. They definitely look high quality. Plus, just because a gauge is electric and not mechancial doesn't mean it is a POS. That 20% restocking fee is horrible.

 

Well really they dont look that great. Looks cool from the front, but in back looks cheap. Just a plastic housing that looks cheap. Really dont want the electric oil, and temp guage. So he is gonna call his credit card and see if they will do anything. If not he is just going to eat it.

 

Hopefully the credit card company can help. At least this is a good lesson that Dolphin gauges have questionable quality and customer service.
