Did they really make this???

I have someone who is trying to sell their Olds. They claim it is either a 71 or 72 Olds 442 with a t-top. I have searched all over and am wondering if they really did make a t-top for the 71/72 and if its worth anything. The car is clean amd has no rust to speak of. Would appreciate any info on this!
Thanks
Kelly

I've never heard of it, but it sounds awesome. Custom perhaps?

Are you sure it has a T-top and not a sunroof??

The only A-body in '71 and '72 that could be be ordered with a sunroof is the '72 Hurst Olds. If it is an original sunroof and is one of those made into a 442 it would be a very strange thing to do but you never know, it would be a really cool find to say the least.
If it is a T-top there was no option for those in '71 or '72 and it's an aftermarket type or a custom installed unit from something else as said.

One of my buddies worked for a place in the early 80's that installed aftermarket T Tops. My bet is somone had them intalled in the late 70's or early 80's when this was popular. Would love to see a picture if you can get one.

Back in the 1980's,there was a silver Cutlass that you would seldom see, that had T-tops.Word was that the owner had it done.Where & with what parts,I do not know. The car disappeared many years ago.The owner also had "The Silver Fox" scripted along the back of the trunklid. It was a very unique & cool car.I would like to know whatever happened to that car,or if it even still exists.
If you were to actually convert a hardtop Cutlass into T-tops,you would need to reinforce the frame,or install a convertible frame,to help stiffen things up.The convertible frames under convertibles weren't even enough for those cars.

I can't image an "A" body with a T-top having much structrual integrity in the roof. if it were in a roll over accident, it probably wouldn't be pretty.
