Date plate info

Hi Guys, Need info on my 1940 Olds Series 70 Touring Sedan. Data plate is as follows: Style 40 3619 Body 2309 Trim 6 Paint 47. Have other questions as to all options available etc. of which this one seems to have everything.

1940 Olds

Thanks Alan, I checked with Classic Car Database and while it gave some info it really did nothing for the data plate info I mentioned in my last post. Hopefully someone out there can help me on that further.

The style and 3619 are covered in the other link. Body 2309 is the fisher assigned number when they welded the body together. I don't have any information about the trim code, but here's a link to 1940 Oldsmobile brochure that has a fair amount of info about that year. Hope it works, this IPad isn't that user friendly.

Try posting on this thread;

There is a member there called "47 Convertible " that started the thread , and he has a 1948 parts manual . It may contain some of the information you seek.

BTW; welcome to Classic Oldsmobile . Post up a picture of your 40 when you can, Does it have a Hydramatic ?
Did you know the 1940 Olds was the first car to offer a fully automatic transmission ?

Thanks Charlie, Just checked the paint code and it indeed is Catalina Gray. Guess I'll be re painting back to original color. Didn't care for the black anyway. Will post a pic as soon as I know how,lol.

It has the following that as far as I have discovered are all options: radio and antenna, clock and light for dashboard, cigar lighter and ashtray beside clock, fog lights, floor heater and circulater under front seat, and running boards which according to classic car data base was an option. Why on earth when it was restored many many years ago they changed the color to black is beyond me, but needless to say we will change it back to Catalina Gray. Thanks guys for everything and I know I will have more questions as we bring her back to her former glory.
