Dash Camera

Ok so I'm looking to install a dash camera on my daily driver, any suggestions on a good product to purchase?
I have looked at amazon and I'm fairly confused but the amount of products out there.

Best concise & simple to read/understand dashcam article when attempting to make a decision. NOTE: Read the "What To Consider In A Dashcam" located about 1/2 down in the article. Size of the microSD card is important as they all pretty much operate via a continuous loop-back protocol, meaning they begin deleting previous captured video when they reach the full mark (they start from the beginning again). Therefore, size of the microSD card is important to hold large quantities of data. But there's a tradeoff, also. You can set most dashcams to capture video in various qualities - lesser video quality capture yields a higher storage capacity while a greater video quality capture yields less storage capacity - a tradeoff which can be managed by most dashcams. Therefore, pay attention to both video quality and size of microSD storage capacity.

Can't go wrong with a Garmin product. I'm running the Garmin Dash Cam 65W, reliable and dependable. No issues thus far during the approximately 6 years of ownership.

Good question. Thanks for the link Norm. I've considered getting a dashcam for my daily driver or at least my Oldsmobile.

Depending on your wants and needs, maybe get 2 one for the front and one for the rear.

Also SD card class matters for getting HD or 4K video out of the camera.

As of about two years ago, all popular brands had (still have?) the same video component. They have a few software bells and whistles added to the camera that differ by brand. I was not impressed with video playback quality on most so I started researching this aspect. That is when I discovered the cameras themselves are pretty much sourced all from the same manufacturer.

I thought some dash cams had forward and rear facing cameras in one bundle?

It look like having the rear camera is an option and I would like to have that in the bundle I purchase.
