I don’t know much about the A bodies, but all the fixes I’ve ever seen involve custom welding.

To avoid that see if you can find such a part for a Chevelle or Lemans, or GTO

With my big cars, it wouldn’t be a question. Nothing like this is reproduced.

Wishing you good luck.

Open it up to reveal the extent before ordering parts. You may need more... lots more.
Pull the fenders. Look at the firewall to frame mounts.
Can you weld with a mig or tig?

That kind of rot (or any for that matter) can have very deep damage. Do your homework. If you want to fix it. Plan on fixing it right.

We're completely spoiled here in CA for rust, but both of my '66's have just a little. hiding on the lower edges of various panels.

In my 98, it's on the cowl buried underneath the driver's side fender at the rear. No other problems since this car has been garaged its whole life. First by my Dad, then by me. It see mostly Summer use and maybe 3-5 days/year of rain.

In my Starfire coupe, it had the typical bottom of the rear window rust which got fixed in 1997, but has returned in the most minor way 25 years later. About a year back I had the lower driver's quarter cut out and replaced for a dime sized bubble. I'm in no hurry to a 1/2" size hole on the passenger quarter.

So I'm ignorant, but I can say, if you're going to fix it, fix it right or it'll come back some time.

Good that the cowl is at least available.

I had the same issue with my car, you may want to source it from a doner car. I don't think that repop panel will give you enough material. As previously stated, there is a high probability that there is much more to fix once it's removed.

The 1968-72 windshields are the same shape and will interchange as long as you go 2 door to 2 door. If you have a nice piece in your parts car it would be worth measuring the vent ducts in relation to the glass. I've got a 1970 post parts car but suspect that area in mine is also rotten. John
