What the heck is a brakeshave?? Ooohh, got it. 'Brakes. Have a nice day'. Sometimes the autocorrect on the eyepad does crap like that too and makes me wonder WTH I typed to deserve that.

Hope you're doing ok with all that water. Tell your back to get un pulled and stop hurting. Back pain is the worst

How many miles per gallon 5,8,10

Allan the way I was positioned bent over the car stepping up on a cement block, replacing the regulator really did a number on me, my back feels better now but the pain has gone down to my calve to my heel, what I’ve been reading online seems to be the plantar fascia, I mean it REALLY HURTS to walk I was hoping it would of gone away by now but 8 days later, pain is getting worse and I feel it’s not getting any better. I’m going to have another 4 day weekend so I will swing by Drs….

And Eric YES finally SUN for 7 days man!!!!! That’s gona be awesome…Eric what’s the name of the color on ur car

Kenneth cut my front lawn AGAIN Sunday!!! Still need the back and I can NOW crank it over in 2 pulls

60 % of my Bullshit stress will be gone by Wednesday!!!!! Yippie for me
And now that the rain has stopped FINALLY meeting with the owner for the Cruise In!!!!, the park is really far from where we both live so been having to reschedule, but I haven’t forgotten and we only live about 1 mile from each other but the bar is about 25 miles out from we are…

Hi Terri. Where's the leak - metal tubing, rubber hose, or connection fitting?

It was actually warm enough to go for a drive today with the top down, without having to wear a winter jacket or a sweatshirt. Wow!

I bermemeber Adam 12. Only they used to start out saying One Adam 12, One Adam 12 - see the mechanic daddy on the CO website.... That apparently was the secret 'reach out' police talk of the day...

Brakes now huh? I'm with Eric of the dipthong comment. Need to know exactly where it's leaking. This could be as easy as a brake hose replacement, tighten up a banjo bolt. Seeing how you have mostly dry climes, I'm hoping your brake lines (those are the metal lines that go from the master cylinder to the front brakes) are in good shape.

How much brake fluid are you losing? Whatever you do, don't let the master cylinder run dry or you'll end up taking it off the car to bench bleed.

I had the Right front on mine start leaking. Turned out to be a bad copper crush washer on the inner side of the banjo bolt.

Hmmm, something I just thought of. If you had to bleed the brakes or had them done recently? Check the bleed screw to see if it's done up tight. IIRC it's somewhere around 7/16" flare nut wrench.

Y'all are crackin' me up! Just wait 'til the Monsoon hits and you'll have your humidity. I remember working outdoors in Phoenix when it was 118* and raining. Then after the rain stops, all the rainwater steams up off the ground. That is enough humidity for anyone. Until then though, dry or not, 110* is still stinkin' HOT!

I agree. Even with low humidity, anything over ~105 is just plain ol' hot.

REALLY ERIK!!!!! smh

Hot humid rain cut grass thats been my routine the past 2 months

Cut the front lawn one more time before it started to rain.

Kenneth I worked outside for about 7 years for a few sign shops, working with vinyl and 100 degree weather against a metal box truck there's nothing like it. Kenneth thats some hot azz heat...

Been woking on cleaning and organizing the garage right well Im like 95% done...its sooooo roomy now

The first 2 trucks I did when I was working for someone else and they didnt have a shaded area for larger trucks, so once I quit and started a sign business on my own, I would go to their garage shaded or I would just do it at my house at night time...

anyways its raining again at my house looking online for a new plotter, I have decide not to repair it anymore its ancient its 9 years old, so hopefully I will be back in business....

Bad bad Eric!!!!! go outside
Allan what's up with all the mispelled words u look drunk

I will check the leak monday, havent been able to go fishing either.Im trying

GREAT to hear from all my favorites

Good Morning Mech Daddy's

awww missed some of...

hows all my favorites ones doing!!!!!!

Where's # 1 at if I was a puppy I would wag my tail at you

Hello to all the Erics from North to South to East to West
Allan, McDonalds farm, Kenneth

Kenneth I am moving to a apartment to get some rest NO MORE FRKING cutting the grass.. .I wont miss that at all
Cutlass is running great, but TOO HOT TO DRIVE BETWEEN THE HRS OF 11:30-7
One day I devised myself a plan
That should be the envy of most any man
I'd sneak it out of there in a lunchbox in my hand
Now gettin' caught meant gettin' fired
But I figured I'd have it all by the time I retired
I'd have me a car worth at least a hundred grand.

I'd get it one piece at a time
And it wouldn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is around.

Have a GOOD HOT STEAMY DAY !!!!!!

Today car stalled....will not start...it just cranks...carb is getting gasoline...and I know after a few tries I flooded her out...Cutlass stayed at the school boo hoo...went back a hour later she still didnt start weird help help

so u think I may need to change rotor and distributor cap again or timing...

last 8 wks I been driving cutlass to work everyday...any ideals....

btw hello everyone..

haven't had any issues she's been running really great, other than a backfire this morning, actually now that I think about it she did stall out monday evening

Hi Terry!

What kind of a distributor do you have again? Points or HEI?

Have you confirmed that you have a good spark?

If you do have a good spark, put a timing light on it and see where the timing's set (and/or put the dwell meter on it and double check the dwell angle).
If the points rubbing block wore, or a points screw loosened up, you could have your dwell and timing set way off.

Pull the coil wire, stick a screwdriver into the terminal, rest the handle of the screwdriver on the intake manifold, or somewhere, in such a way that one bit of the shaft of the screwdriver is about half an inch away from a grounded surface (bracket, coil, distributor base - whatever), then crank the car and watch for the spark - it should be sharp and blue.

You can also do this at the end of the spark plug wire, but you will get only ⅛ as many sparks.

You can also pull a spark plug, snap the wire back onto it, rest the base of the plug on a grounded surface, crank and watch - the spark should be blue-white.

Read this.

Good luck!

Glad you've been enjoying the use of the Cutlass. Make sure you have voltage at the coil + terminal on the coil both in the start and run ignition key positions.

Time to check further.

Follow my advice above, and get back to us.

And, yes, it could be flooded - you could have a piece of crud stuck between the needle and seat, keeping the needle valve from closing, which could cause it to flood out after a minute or two -- While testing for spark, pull a plug after it stalls and look to see if it is wet.
(note that while flooding can cause wet plugs, no spark at all can do the same thing).

On a side note I have had a weird thing happen before on a 70 model firebird related to flooding and it was regarding tank ventilation. It had a unvented gas cap and maybe other vents were clogged but after heat of driving in texas and shutting it off the psi in fuel line spiked and over powered needle and seat and it flooded car and actually siphoned gas into the engine and filled it up to the intake manifold with gasoline. It was the oddest thing I had seen. The fact you had a fresh carb and new inline filter I doubt any trash got through. If float was new on carb rebuild it shouldn't be an issue either this quickly.

True True Eric , I was just thinking of items that had not been replaced and also maybe if the voltage is high (12-14) on the coil (no more resistor wire) due to any mods to the wiring maybe the points were short lived and burned up

Excellent point. You never know where a car's been, and what's been done to it (sounds like a few "acquaintances" I made in my younger days... ).
