No classes if your judging. Get the judging out of the way mid-way through so people aren't waiting till the end of the show for awards. Food, Beer and Tequila (Partron) vendors! Music! Or just skip the judging all together and make it simply a cruse!
There will be the obligatory burn-outs at the end of the show. Be sure the surrounding area will be conducive to that or put out the warning to the show/cruz goers to refrain or you could lose the venue...ask how I know this.
One piece of advice for your Olds. Clean and tighten every ground(and positive) connection you can find. 45 year old connections are going to need attention. The main (secondary) big battery cables should be replaced if they are original. Fusick and Year One offer exact replacements. Don't buy will-fits from china. In fact buy nothing from china for your American classic! That cable you bought might have been china if it simply broke vs cooked?
If you don't have them already purchase the Fisher body manual, the Chiltons or Motors service manuals and the factory assembly manuals. Not expensive and plenty of info, such as where the original ground straps should be located wire diagrams etc...most everything you need about your ride. Once you've cleaned these connections I like to spray clear ignition sealer over the top of said connection. It will keep it clean and tight longer.
I usually go through each car I buy and think what it will take to make it a reliable vehicle. There are several systems I go at first. Electrical is at the top. Once you get a plan on how to systematically attack each system(cooling, electrical, brake, fuel etc...) lay it out in some order of priority and go at it from a system stand point. Starting with safety then work your way to the less important, such as the girly pretty stuff. (Sorry couldn't resist) .

You all are the best and know how to make me feel better

droldsmorland - Thank you SO MUCH...batten my eyes at you...

the First event I will just have a cruise in, food and fun...HOPEFULLY the bar will get the music or a band, if all goes good then maybe next time we can do a entry fee and tshirt prizes raffles
But I want to see what type of crowd we can bring in....

There will be the obligatory burn-outs at the end of the show. Be sure the surrounding area will be conducive to that or put out the warning to the show/cruz goers to refrain or you could lose the venue...ask how I know this.
Well if we are cut from the same mold other than the boobies, we u me will burn out....

The advice on the Cutlass, thats extacly what Ive been trying to do PRIORITIZE right, that works great until something breaks down out of order...lol if u know what I mean...

But I will continue to do what u r suggesting
[I]Once you've cleaned these connections I like to spray clear ignition sealer over the top of said connection. It will keep it clean and tight longer[I] This is new to me but I like it thanks....I havent even thought of all the pretty girlie stuff too buzy with the old broken down boy stuff first lol....
me smiling at you

Hang in there, Terry. (Note...Canadian but spelled it right)
Thanks my fellow Canadian friend from a land far far far way..ur sweet heres a hug for u...

As you fight through each of these trials, take some time to look at what you've taken on and beaten on DnD. You've brought that car a long way already and are well on your way to having a solid, well behaved classic to enjoy. Ive had the car since feb 14th and I HAVE TACKLED alot on my own and I do feel the rewards and have a certain glow and smile when I am driving DnD thanks for reminding me of that

DnD is lucky to have someone so determined and enthusiastic.
this comment brought a tear to my eyes, thank you and here's another hug for u too.olala u got 2 hugs from me WOW!!!!

Thanks for the pep talk GUYS...
Im just overwhelmed with other things going on in my life, and they are your typical mishaps, flat tires, water breaks at the home, daughter was sick with Penumonia for a week, grass was a mile high but couldnt start lawn mower, I have 2 cars so when one breaks down I can just jump into the other one right...But when both are having issues....what do u do call in sick lol..Im just tired....Hopefully If all goes WELL Ima go FISHING at South Padre Island and Brownsville Texas..go see some hometown friends...I will feel better..FISHING always makes me feel better and the sound of rolling clashing waves..awwww how nice I feel better already

There should have been a bare metal flat weaved strap that ran from the passenger side rear of the head to the firewall.

FWIW, I wouldn't drive in the rain before the ground strap is correctly connected. I had my floor linkage shifter cable weld shut once when the ground strap rusted into

Squirrel Season,

When Blue was a pup he learned early on what the sound of a high powered pellet gun sounded like and what the rewards were.

The little varmits, tree rats..I dont like them

Here's my pup with a treat she found in the backyard when I lived on the Texas Gulf Coast. She has that "look what I caught, but you can't have it" look.

She became quite a good squirrel huntress!

Here kitty kitty

Kenneth, what kind or mixed breed is the pup.....

Blue is a Catahoula mix with lab, with one Blue eye and one brown eye

Yep it was funny when Blue was a little puppie and I shot a squirrel he ran to get it before I could get up, he picked up the squirrel in his mouth, looking at me running away...he was the same size as the squirrels at that time

HELLO KITTY - Eric I like your sense of HUMOR, you all crack me up...I wish I could meet all of u

Nope, no photo shop. It's actually a "real" picture from a 35mm camera that was scanned into digital format.

As I said, she was a huntress. I came home for lunch one day and she had bagged 4 squirrels that morning. She did better than me, and I use a gun!

Oh yeah, that one. I should say that GI Joe would not like you referring to him as a "mini soldier". That's just humiliating.

And if squirrels were really that big, it would be a 50s Sci-Fi movie come to life. Ever see "Night of the Lepus"? That was when giant rabbits ran amok. It would also mean you could feed the family without getting a big game tag...

Allan this is for you - Here's how DnD sounds

I tried to upload a video but it was to big , maybe its my computer, but if u could take the time go give her a listen

But Im anxious for uall to hear DnD, I THINK she sounds pretty good.

There was some shake shake shake going on yesterday still heard like the sounds of 10 vaccum leaks...but after I checked the bolts

I tighten down all the bolts to the valve covers, geez they were all so loose, the shaking has stopped SMOOTH TO ME..

Overall, it is very hard to accurately record the sound of an engine using a cell phone or video camera, so what I'm hearing may not be what you're hearing.

To me it sounds like you have a slight exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe leak, which you can hear at idle, but otherwise, from what I can hear, the engine sounds great!

UGHHH ohhhIve been reading

I only smoke when Idling and not all the time either, and someone mentioned to me to
check some drain oil return holes under the valve covers
ok so I googled and youtubed and I did find a few things one leading back to classicolds of course even one that Eric oldcutlass advised on...
Did you make sure all your drain returns were clear at both ends of your heads

If I attempt at replacing the gaskets to the valve covers and intake manifold gaskets, wanna do as MUSH as I can while Im there

Eric thats a GREAT question

So as everything else on the car is azzBACKWARDS

My PVC valve is where the PVC filter should be, and I wanted to switch them back BUT someone told me to just leave it like that..

But I do remember reading some where to replace pvc valve to reduce the smoke..

So what do ualll think, should I leave it or move it

here's a pic of the way it looks now...But I want to put everything back the way it was built...

They aren't expensive and if it hadn't been changed in a while it couldn't hurt. As long as there is a baffle under where the PCV is now your fine, if there is no baffle it may suck oil into the engine and cause it to smoke. What are you using for an air cleaner on the carb?

So Eric Yes I have replaced the pvc valve and have a new pvc filter, BUT do I leave them where they are now or switch them back to where they are suppose to go...

Air Cleaner - well I have both of what the car came with but sort of want to put back the original air filter base etc
