D heads value
#2
I sold a set last summer that had some minor flaws because they had been chromed at some point in their life and when stripped took some marital off for 2500. Definitely jump on it at 2500 as the car could be a rare one

Verify they're real D heads and not some JB Weld reconstruction. Real D heads are big valve, small chamber heads with casting number 400370 with one divided center exhaust ports, and are worth about twice that by themselves if they're in good shape. If in running condition, and you get a 455 block with it, it's not a bad snag for that price. Of course, it would depend if it's basket case or complete engine.
If you're looking to flip them, you're best luck obviously would be with the 68 W-30, non-air 68 H/O, and 69 H/O crowd. Anyone restoring one to stock would need them. They're not bad heads to use but they're not deep pocket springs. There are better head options aftermarket now that you could put that kind of money in if max power is the goal.

Not looking to flip, the listing is in Miami, if some one has interest its a complete running engine on a stand. I just happen to run across it scrolling Oldsmobile parts..I am not interested, got plenty of work to do on my own two cars. Go to marketplace Miami, search olds 455 engine, it will pop up. I would post pics but half the time it shows to big of file, then the other times it posts them.. tried several times..no go
