Current carburettor castings

This rose to my head today, when my friend bought new Edelbrock 750 AFB.
The casting- woah! Primary-boosters had huge steps on parting line- so that the part under ( booster has parting-line middle-way of it) was bigger than the upper part. Alot of casting flash everywhere on throats, even on entries to venturi, also on secondary side. About secondary side- they werent even identical to each other due to casting flash.
Also alot of other stuff around.

Out of curiosity i inspected my Quadrajet, its 40 years old, and it was casting-wise 10 times better, no lies. I remember 7 years back when i bought 2 Weber DCOE 45's, the retailer told that their molds were worn, and some attention would be needed to check through the bodies- but with the warnings and all, they werent even close to that AFB i saw.

Anyone else noticed this? Whats the deal with Holley, and Holley-brand owned carburettors? Do they show that much casting flash, and mismatch?

Asking purely out of curiosity, since what i saw was "shocking" to what ive seen so far. Old SU-carburettors i used to repair, were work of art machining-wise.

Ps. Oh yeah, that text about checking float-levels was no joke, they werent even close, not even close to each other.
Im not blaming Edelbrock carbs, it might be just a monday-piece, but its this normal or what? No need to say, my friend wasnt too pleased.

If you're only talking about the parting line on the inside of the boosters it may mean to be there to shear the fuel off the lip and better atomize the fuel.

Outside of the boosters. Didnt take pics tho. But it was a step which made the bottom-part of the outside of booster bigger than the upper part of the booster, therefore throwing off the flow? And it wasnt constant ( the parting-line) around the booster, from throat 1 to throat 2, another booster had more step than the one next to it, on different spots, even if you would think like left would need a big step at 3 o'clock, and right at 9 o'clock.
