Quick Carburettor Question

Hello, it's been a while since i've been on here!
I've still got issues with my engine set up and have been on the lookout for a replacement carb for my Edelbrock 750 performer.

I've had loads of suggestions and most seem to point to Q-jet.

Finally something has popped up on UK ebay and i was hoping you guys could advise me if it's going to fit and be better than what i've got already.

please take a look here

Much appreciated, thanks

Dan,

Refresh my memory - do you have a spread bore intake manifold? If so, this carb will be a good starting point. You may need to tweak the metering rods (which are available), but it will definitely get you close. The electric choke is nice as well.

Hello,
the intake is the 2151 standard Edelbrock Performer, NOT RPM version.

Do you know what the CFM would be on this carb?

I've gone and done it!
I've bowed down and purchased this Quadrajet to replace my Edelbrock 750.
The more investigating I did revealed a LOT of bad reviews relating to the 750 Ed and the chances of another Q-Jet coming up here in UK soon are slim. I did a deal and got some money off as well.

OK, so now i've got to switch them over.
Is there anything new i need to do to get this carb to fit since i've fitted the Edelbrock? ie, throttle linkage, adapter plate, fuel line, vacuum...

The seller said it had been completely rebuilt to manufacturers spec and settings. What you you think it will need to run sweet on top of my 425 ??

Also, can anyone recommend a good cheap cam upgrade please?

Thanks guys
