converting 68 cutlass fenders to 69??
#2
The factory made replacement fenders that have bolt holes for both year of hinges. I've got a pair of them that are rotted at the heel, I can send you photos and if you'd like I can try to get a template of where the holes are located. John

Hi John
Thanks for the offer, we have the mounting pattern for 68/69 dual hinge hole mount.
I was wondering if anyone has converted a set?
There is a nice set of 68 fenders for sale in the parts section and my friends car is a 69.
We were just wondering if it was as simple as drilling new holes and spot welding in some cage nuts?

you can cut the correct section out of the donor 69 fender and weld it to the 68 or drill out all the spot welds and do it right. I did the former and then ended up not using 69 hinges on my 68 anyway. It worked but I should have just gone with the dual pattern fender

I assume you're talking about converting Randy's 68 fenders

Rust free fenders are hard to come by, and if it is as simple as three holes and spot welding the cage nuts in place why not?
Thanks for all the reply's

It's not just as simple putting three holes into the existing 68 fender. The profile of a 68 "only" fender and a 69 "only" fender are different in the hinge mounting area.
