Convertible Top Cylinder - How to Access

Convertible Top Cylinder - How to Access

Hi, newbie convertible guy here. I have a '69 Cutlass and it appears the convertible top cylinder or line is leaking near the driver's rear tire. I know, in general, where it is located but does anyone have a suggestion on how to access it to inspect?

Welcome aboard, First of all I know little about 69 verts but if it were an older car the pump cylinders and motor should be hiding behind the top boot(some call it a bag). Mine is accessible either by unsnapping the bag from from the mounting frame behind the back seat or come at it from the trunk. Either way you can't miss it. If this is wrong its because I haven't kept up on these new fangled cars but this should get you close....Tedd

On this era car the cylinders are behind the vertical panels at the rear of the arm rests.



The arm rests and rear panel come out together as an assembly. Remove the rear seat first, then remove the arm rests and cylinder covers.
