Convertible top boot cleaning

The white boot cover for my '71 vert has some staining on it. I've tried Oxyclean and also used a magic eraser, but it still looks kinda dingy with a few spots. I don't want to buy a new one, because it is the original and in surprisingly great condition. Any ideas on other cleaning products that I might want to try?

I've heard folks say that Simple Green works well.

I've heard that too. I was just worried that since the boot is white, simple green might stain it worse.

I've found Simple Green to be a very mild cleaner. I know it's preferred over Bleach White for white wall tires. Hopefully someone with 1st hand experience chimes in soon.

I always thought Oxieclean was the best I've ever used, must be a deep stain do you know what made that stain?... Tedd

Simpler green works great and is also available in lemon scent. I too have a white top and use it often. For the stubborn stuff I use a bleach cleaner but put it on the rag and spot clean just to be safe.

I use bleach white - be careful but it works great on the boot and on the white letters on your tires

Thanks for the feedback. After looking at some of the reviews, I just ordered some Bleach White. Hopefully it will work as advertised.

Have some of the same issues with the boot on my 72 Cutlass. Am able to get the white side clean, but having trouble on the fabric on the reverse side that has a rust colored growth/stain that's proving to be pretty stubborn. It looks like something biological that has died out.

Why do you even care what the underside of the boot looks like?

Used many products on my white top. Because of this tread I tried Bleche Wite and I'm sold. My top was grey at best when I bought the car and it cleaned up ok with various chemicals. Was going to get a new top, then I used Bleche Wite and now I think I'll wait on a new top.https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...1&d=1491830488
