Condolences for Chris Witt ("Octania" on this forum)

Wow! I heard of news story for a man hitting a dog on his motorcycle about 11:00 PM last night on the southside of Lansing. I tried the link on facebook not sure how to glean information from that! I wonder if this was it?
Another Olds brotheren gone! RIP my good man. Lived across town, chatted a few times here but never really had a chance to press the flesh.

Yes, that was it. Apparently the dog was loose in the road, he hit it and went flying. Sad.
I was able to see the FB post his wife Angela made, not sure why since Chris and I were not connected on FB. But here is the screencap. The pics make me sad.
I'm in for a donation to the family once it is set up.

Stunned. And near unbelievable to be taken out like that. I had heard the name "Chris Witt" years before I ever joined the Oldsmobile online community and was told he was knowledgeable and hilarious. I found that to be true.

I just saw this thread, and I'm speechless. Heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fellow CO members. I didn't know him well except through his posts here. Regardless, I feel a keen sense of loss.

Condolences to family and friends. I only met Chris once, and bought from him one time, but appreciated his knowledge and humor.
Life is too short.

Wow. Came around to read about control arms and stumbled into this and recognized the name instantly. Very sad news. Only talked with him a couple times over the phone but he sure was a charismatic guy when I did talk with him, and many times I've had a good chuckle over his posts. Very grateful for all the knowledge he's shared online over the years.
Only great things to say about the guy. Chris helped me get my car's steering center link situation sorted out when I needed a deal on a good used part, and was super quick to exchange the part he sent when we both guessed incorrectly on the first one I bought from him. Even though I didn't personally know him as well as many people in this community, I feel the loss. Condolences to his friends and family.

I have been reading this and the other threads - it seems your friend was truly a stand up guy and I have not been here long enough to have had the honor of meeting or talking to him. But I had read his outpourings on the 442 faq page long before I found this place.
Times like these, the value of the interwebs just about drowns out the nastyness of the 'facebooks'. I can relate to your loss, a year or so ago one of the founding fathers of the ford truck club heart attacked, just after missing one of the few shows he ever missed - in fact it was he who approached my spot and insisted I bring my truck resto hobby into the fold. Hits ya hard no? Something that mebbe 20 but most certainly 30 years ago and longer would have been impossible: e-friends.
I know on the FTE site the mods altered my friends profile to list him as emeritus and made him a co-boss forever so the name always shows up. Perhaps you can honor your guy here similarly.
Condolences to all.

There are so many beautiful words here. Could someone who knows Chris's wife personally send her these messages so she can see one more example of the kind, generous, thoughtful person Chris has been to so many people on classicoldsmobile?
