So I have this 71 442 code 19 Black with black interior nom but has a correct 68-71 block
i may be painted the car soon and would love to keep it the orig color as I usually do.
But I’m having thoughts of changing to another color maybe yellow or Orange Viking blue is always nice with black stripes.
As far as value do you think it matters in the long run? If I don’t keep it black? With a non matching numbers Engine?
so if I were buying I’d be saying ok not orig motor but it’s the orig color which is nice?
Black is so hard to keep clean but looks Awsome when it is.
Agean aqua is nice to I did that before. Front view Driver side view Garage shot

Just do what you want since it's your car. As long as you don't do an extravagant color (like I did lime green), I don't think you're gonna hurt value as long as you do it right. You're already not numbers matching, so any of those people are already not interested.
Black on Black is possibly the most desirable combination for resale you can have.
Driving a car that is not the color you want after a rotisserie rebuild....my issue exactly
Picking up an Azure blue 70 442. This is the color of Ken Miles GT40 in Ford vs Ferrari. I really want a Metallic Sherwood Green colored car. What oh what to do.
Imho a good color doesnt hurt value and could help it on just about anything but high dollar car.
black red or blue are all solid colors
yellow, orange, brown or green will narrow the audience
teal, azure ( sorry gp) nordic blue, pink, lime, purple target only a few people i see a car those colors its gotta be cheap enough and nice enough to make me not want to pass right away.
if i was painting to resell black red or blue no oddball shades either.
if i was painting to keep it any of the top 7 colors i listed but likely green first!
mycurrent crop of vehicles are black, red, blue, cranberry?, and nordic...i dont like the nordic color as much as the others.
when i bought a newer truck a few years ago i said any color but ubiquitus (for todays cars) grey, gray, or siver....i found a good deal on a gray one to my dismay, i bought it but never cared for the color!

Black/gold is the classic 1970 color scheme. Check out any magazine when these cars were coming back in style in the 1980s and that's what you'll find. It's practically quintessential.
But please remember that there were no red stripes in 1971.

i always thought that was a gorgeous color. I also love the emerald green, the light blue (can’t remember the color name) obviously the orange, the list goes on....
