If you just do not like green then paint it red, just use the factory 68 color code red. What color interior? You def want that to be a match, if its green interior, its green paint. If the car stripped and you can’t see what color it was and the interior is gonna look really nice with the factory 68 red painted it’s not gonna affect the value

Sorry, can't really help.Your car, your choice. If it were mine though, I'd paint it the original color.

I agree with BangScreech4-4-2 but I'm one who wants things all original-like and I do believe the more the original (or original-like) the better the value.

Every "restored" car today is Resale Red. Pick something else.

I have found that after new paint the car will look great! I always remembered as a kid the aqua and light blue colors that seemed to be on every old car, especially Chevies. A friend had a 66 Chevelle that was that aqua. He restored it and painted it original color. It was beautiful!! I would paint it original color myself, unless you absolutely hate it. But don't base it on old flat looking paint.

willow gold metallic is a beautiful color. It is fairly unusual if you like that shade that might be an option

I say do what you want. Maroon is absolutely one of favorite colors on an Olds A body. Build it like you want it. I really don't a color change being an issue. If you our the front fender stripe on it Move the Emblem. Do it right.

And when you have the urge to paint W36 stripes located incorrectly like this, lie down until the urge passes.

Do any of the photos I posted have the correct placement of the stripe and emblem. Only asking because I searched a bit and did not readily find a correct one only discussion of a bunch of incorrect one's

You will be hard pressed to find a photo of correct stripes on the web (just like you'll be hard-pressed to find a 70-72 with a metal hood...), but your last one has correct stripe and emblem placement. Of course the repro Ram Rod decal is not correct.

Ahh- That is good info, I take it from other post's the 4-4-2 emblem is also different placement with the W36 option. More symmetrical. Its all details. Good for members doing the work, right the first time and give a rip about the factory application

Correct, which is why all the ones you see today are incorrectly located, since they didn't take the time to move the emblems.
