chasing down issues

Just let every one know that even I have problems with my own cars.
On the 70 I have been getting an intermittent hot light! Thought it was the thermostat that I replaced with all the hoses last August. But through testing and diagnostics I found out the radiator cap was bad (high dollar year one part).

Again about two weeks ago the right rear tire has been locking up on moderate or high brake pedal pressure. Yesterday I thought doing a couple of hi speed backups to adjust the rear brakes. No luck. So reading through the trouble shooting section, I decided to do a brake inspection on both rears the left side was functioning properly and the right..... Well the cylinder was wet around the stems so the shoes had light contamination! Three coats of brake kleen and replacing the cylinder for about $9, bleed the brakes with the misses as a helper and the test drive proved to be a winner! No lock up.

As a side bar, I even went and replaced my inducer motor on my furnace (noisy bearings) and did that with no issues!

And the old mower had deck issues with rust! Did some patching to keep him up and running, only three more to twenty years for $139.00 original purchase price.

Saving money, I love that.

Pat

Ha ha. Yeah. My wife would love for me to get a new lawn mower (not that she ever lays a hand on it, y'understand, just because it'd look prettier), but I'm still using the one my grandfather bought in 1970, because it works, and why would I ever replace something that works just fine?
