Changing Special Order Paint Code Car

One of the cars I am interested in is a special order (yellow) car and I am thinking of changing it to a different special order color. How badly would this devalue the car?

I would think the world of special order paint would be rather ambiguous. Unless you have some form of documentation to prove what the original color was when it left the factory, there would be no impuact. However, if you do have some form of documentation, keeping the car the same color should increase the value to some degree depending on the popularity of the color.

My opinion is just that. Interested what others may say.

Unless you have a build sheet or other documentation with the original paint code, all the cowl tag has is "- -". I assume the interior is some universal color like black or white and not green or red.
