it has been a while but i think my 91 442 was code 81 and in the 90s that was red. may be what he was thinking.

It's also a color that doesn't show dust or light dirt (like after driving through a rain) either!

Here is a picture of the best looking Bamboo car I have seen on the internet. I think the tan vinyl top looks sharp with the car. Mine originally was also Bamboo with a vinyl top then painted white with the vinyl removed. I will be painting my 72 Supreme this coming Summer, but will not go with the Bamboo and the vinyl top will be put back on!

I really really like those bamboo cars, I've seen a Cutlass S with the same color top combo - luv it.

The paint codes did not stay the same year to year, for example, my '69 is paint code 55 which is Tahitian Turquoise, in 1970 paint code 55 was Nugget Gold.

Oops! I meant Galleon Gold. The paint code for Bamboo changed from '70 to '72, and was not offered in '71

Butternut Yellow is the same as Olds' Saffron Yellow, but not the same as Bamboo.

yes@ hinz57 i saw that car and it is gorgeous, but i found a 70 442 that was bamboo with gold interior and the matching gold top... awesome! i had a local paint store take a picture with this machine and they got me the closest thing to my current color which is bamboo but a little whiter cause it faded and i like it better, the color came out to be kansas beige its a little off but i doubt you can see it in the sun. i bought sport mirrors for my car and painted them im hoping to get them on tonight
