My 69 442 convertible centerlink had some small flat dust covers on the idler arm and the arm from the power steering that I have no idea what it is called. My assembly manual doesn't seem to show them. The old ones are useable, but not great. Anyone know a source or part number?

Ames Performance Engineering has the foal "seals" for the center link:

I thought Inline Tube would have these as well but don't see them in my paper catalog....maybe they offer them on their ebay site...don't know.

 

I ended up using ones that were in my performance suspension kit. They do not look the same, but probably work better.

What RocketVapor linked to is different than the Ames Perf. seals.

BUT....these ILT rubber/steel washer seals are more correct than the foam "washers" that Ames sells. The cheaper foam seals are probably something the aftermarket manufacturers started using in an effort to get the cost down on the part.

Thanks RocketVapor - I like it when these repro vendors continue to come up with more exact-to-original parts.

EDIT/ADD: Just checked a couple original '70 front steering setups and they have the rubber "seals" (like those linked to by RocketVapor) instead of the foam "washer" seals.

 

I bought a new Moog center link and the flat foam seals came in the box with it. They aren't just foam though. They seem to be soaked in some kind of heavy grease

After I wrote that I went out in my shop and checked a pretty original 70 442 I have. I don't believe that the front suspension has ever been changed. Turns out it has a boot that is just as 70Post described. Now I need to place another order!

Thanks for that photo. I'm sure the foam washers used today are purely a cost issue. It's a lot cheaper to die cut washers from foam sheets than it is to injection mold the correct parts.
