carburetor size?
A question if the Edelbrock 1406 is too big? Stock was a 2 barrel carb. and previous owner put the 4 barrel edelbrock on. It works, but is there a better match? Original 2 barrel intake manifold , 72 Cutlass supreme, 350-2 barrel, single exhaust. Looking to go dual exhaust near future. Thanks, Jack

The internet shows that is a 600 cfm carburetor, so no it is not too big. The factory QuadraJet for that engine was 750 cfm. Vacuum secondaries will tailor the air flow for the engine demand. With whatever carburetor is used, you need to ensure the jetting is correct for the proper air-fuel ratio.

So you have a 4 barrel on a 2 barrel manifold? There are adaptors that make this possible, but you aren't getting the full benefit of the 4 barrel if that is your setup. I would personally go with a stock 4 barrel manifold with a qjet, but even a stock 4 barrel manifold with an adaptor for your edelbrock would be beneficial for you.
