Carb dashpot

I know this has been asked before (several times by others) but here goes. Does anybody have a carb dashpot and bracket they want to part with? It's for my '71 but I think at least '69 thru '73+, all models/engines, should be the same.

Is this it? I'm not sure what year it came from.

No, no, J - The dashpot & bracket is the thing at the top left of this picture:

Doesn't it look familiar?
That and the cruise servo should, as they were in that box of "junk" I bought from you a couple years back. Of course they were dirty and rusty back then........

That's exactly it Rob! I would say 99% were removed and thrown away back in the day. Anyone got one 'kicking around'?

That's strange, I don't have anything like that on my car at all. What gives? Is it for the 2GC or quadrajet?

Quadrajet (actually the 2-bbl has one too). I've seen it on other cars (1969-1972) and there's a section in the 1971 repair manual for properly adjusting it so I assume mine's missing. The holes and bolt are there in my intake where is should go.

It was used on 4bbl (and a few 2bbl) with custom A/C . That explains why Allan's car did not have it (no A/C). Most of the 2bbl cars used an idle-up solenoid in place of the dashpot.

I remember now. I sent the 440 one as well.
I had another one of those, but the dashpot had puked all the guts out of it. I will see if the bracket is still in the box.

Found one! Needs a little cleaning but I pushed the rod and it appears to work fine. How does $20 to your door sound? John

Cool! Looks like John found you a dash o' pot!
It looks about like the one I had got from J, but with a wire wheel on a Dremel, some deruster, cans of black and aluminum spray paint, it will look like mine in the picture above!
