Car Show. Boonville High School, Boonvegas, IN 3-3
With unseasonably warm weather, car show season has begun in southern Indiana. I powered up my old Monte Carlo and went to nearby Boonville for their high school's show. Very well done show, the concessions were cheap and good, the music was a very pragmatic zoomer's "let's find a top 70s and 80s music list and play it" selection, and there were 125 cars.
Two Oldsmobiles, a minivan and a 69 442.
The odd looking blue car is a Kellerman body kit on a 58 Corvette chassis with a 70 big block. Edit: KALLISON Editx2: KELLISON even, ugh.
The 71 green Monte Carlo was nice and the owner and I talked a lot; I have a pic of it and mine in the background.
Edit: I hung out with the judges some. My old heap got a 10 of 10 interior, 7.5 under the hood, 7 trunk, and 10 paint. I thought that was pretty nice judging especially the paint. Got me a top 25, so top 20%, I'll take it.
Those high school kids appear to be digging that 59 Edsel wagon. Maybe it has sown a seed.
It's been a long time since any of the local high schools hosted a fundraiser car show. Probably due to lack of older car people to help with it as much as anything.
So cool to see car shows going on. There are so.e cool cars to comment on. Is that Monte factory green? I was in love with a teacher once that had a factory green Monte Carlo. I too dig the Vega wagon and the Edsel.
Thanks for posting everything. I love the diversity.
