Car guy Valentines tip (pic added)

I always try to be creative this time of year but don't spend much money.
Not sure what I am doing this year but last year here is what I did and my wife loved it.
Bought a nice looking wood 5 x 7 frame at Michaels for $12.00
Looked around the shop and found some 11ga sheet and cut it to fit inside the frame. I took the grinder and made grind marks all over the sheet. Now the hard part. I centered a simple line drawing of a heart on the back side of the sheet to use as my guide. I light my torch and heat the metal in the center of the heart until it turns blue. Move the torch around to color in the heart. The trick is you have to remember the heat travels after you take the torch away. The hardest part is the V at the top. If you go too far it overlaps and makes a blob. If you don't go far enough you don't complete the shape. I had to grind it off and redo 3 times before I was happy with it.

Your welcome

Are you sure it wasn't PepsGruber?

Actually that is an awsome idea. I still don't know what I am doing for the wife. Maybe I will take her out to Taco Bell in the 71 if the guy gets the interior done this weekend.

Lucky me - I don't have to worry V-day this year!
I will be on a long motorcycle ride that day with the HOG club to have lunch at a well known country bakery (Mary of Puddin Hill)!
I will pig out royally...

Writing would be too tough with the regular welding tip I was using. Maybe with a 000 tip

I don't know why I asked, I should have figured that out on my own. Been a long day and I'm not thinking right.

Out of curiosity, when you did that, did you heat the face or the back? BTW that looks pretty cool.
