Car Covers
Lot of variables in choosing a car cover, biggest being where will the car be stored? Indoors or outdoors? Also how much do you want to spend, since pricing is all over.
If indoors, a Wal-Mart or parts store generic cover will do fine. Look for one that is soft but that also breathes, allowing any humidity to pass thru it instead of staying in or on the car. Your car will probably need a LARGE size cover. Budge makes a good one reasonably priced.
Outdoor covers are a different ballgame. Again, you need a cover that is soft enough to not scratch or wear paint but is also reasonably waterproof. It will need to fit snugly enough around the car that wind won't whip it and beat the paint and will also need a lock cable that goes under the car to help hold it on.
For that reason an outdoor cover needs to be tailored to the car, and that can get expensive.
Then there are the guys who have to have the best (or the most expensive at least) and that's where places like Beverly Hills Car Cover and Griot's Garage come in. I have a custom fit BHCC on one of my Starfires and I don't like the damn thing. It's a lined weatherproof nylon fabric and slips and slides all over the place when installing or removing it. If it hadn't cost so much I wouldn't use it, since the Budge covers on the Hurst and Ninety Eight keep them clean and protected with a lot less aggravation.

Should have clarified- my cars live in a pole barn garage so they're out of weather and direct sunlight.
Rob, you must have had the newer type woven polypropylene fabric Budges. I have a light green flannel cloth one I've used for nearly 25 years on several different cars, and it is currently on a friend's 66 Bonneville in his storage unit. It's old enough and been washed enough times that the elastic has stretched and it doesn't snug to the car anymore, but it still works well for indoor storage and it is soft.
Kevin, there are several car cover companies online and almost all use the same fabrics, so finding one for your F85 should not be difficult. Just remember indoor storage vs outdoor.

Budge has been crap for the past 4 years for sure. The earlier ones were probably made better. I had a cover from walmart that I bought in 1992 and it finally started falling apart in 2008. Was a great cover for the price.
Here's a cheap easy solution.. My Pops mentioned how all the car covers he saw felt like steel wool, and none of them really fit his 72' Grand Prix very well. As a joke, I sowed together a couple of nice bed sheets... sad thing is, it works great and surely won't harm the paint.

I bought a custom fitted cover from Big Sky back in August. Mine will only be used for indoor storage but has 4 layers and very well constructed. I'd recommend them to anyone after seeing the quality and fit. Bit pricey, but worth it. Also has a 4 year warranty. Here's what it looks like on the car (BTW the back bumper is off the car or it would fit a bit tighter there). This one is made by Cover Craft and is the Duststop model.

Big Sky Car Covers http://www.bigskycarcovers.com/our-p...om-car-covers/ Can't remember the guy's name who handles phone orders, but he's GOOD at answering questions and helping with placing an order. Plus he remembered my name and what we talked about on followup calls prior to placing the order.
